Let there be light

Happy time when prevails
When plans are made like fairy tales
Eyes when shine like a sparkling gem
Unaware of tears waiting behind them.

The hour turns, seems as if stopped
The dreams crushed, and smiles mopped
Darkness engulfs, impossible to see
Gazing at the sky, one just wishes to flee.

Failed to understand, the theory of life
After ripening, the fruit goes to knife
But the story doesn’t end here
For time is little, too large is life.

After the darkest before dawn
Sparrows chirp in a distant lawn
A minute speckle of light shines
Gives the hope to end the whine.

In the darkest corners of the world
In a blink the dark is hurled
To turn despair into hope and delight
Just remember to switch on the light.

I loved the last stanza. “just remember to switch on the light”–this is very true! It’s something that we all need to remember to do.

Thank you so much for appreciating, Julie. It feels very special to be praised by such an amazing and beautiful author 🙂 And you are right! Often we are so obsessed with pain that we forget to come out of it. Welcome to my blog. Hope to see you more 🙂

So beautiful! Let there be light… It is all in our hands. Our survival and our demise. Sure, there are countless macro factors at play, but it is we who decide when to give up! “To turn despair into hope and delight, Just remember to switch on the light.” Couldn’t have put it better!

Thank you thank you thank you Aditi ! 🙂 So glad you liked it. I completely believe in it. We feel like our world is crushed during difficult times, but as soon as we see thousands of others suffering much more and for much longer and still manage to smile, the light comes to us instantly 🙂

Exactly! I know we shouldn’t say “What’s the big deal? There are worse sufferers!” But can’t you see? There are worse sufferers and they’ve made their way out of their suffering! So then why can’t we?

I really used to think about it since Albus Dumbledore said that magical line when I was a child, “Light can be found even in the darkest corners of the world”. But as we grow up, these words start making more and more sense 🙂

I agree. The older we get, the clearer things become (and then we look back and think, why didn’t I do things differently?) The learning curve that is LIFE.

The light, the warmth, the memory of mothers breast, bring back to us in time of need the comforts of basic righteousness.
