The Blindness

I stand in a valley surrounded
By hills and trees mounted
The sun shines on the opposite hemisphere
And the moon can be seen nowhere

In an ocean of dark
I see things pointed like a shark
The rustling leaves make a sound so shrill
My spine shivers with the stormy wind’s chill

The pupil is maximized but still
Unable to get the light to fill
Black shapes appear on canvas black
A cricket chirps and animates the pack

Slowly the dawn breaks and
The black canvas gets a red band
The black sharks now lush green
The misty mountains so serene

The fear of unknown scared
Of knowledge making it impaired
The cool winds kiss the ears and whisper
The blindness, not the scene, is the one to whimper

And the sun shines after every dark night.
Beautiful imagery you painted through your words.

Yes Naima! No matter how much dark it gets, or how many clouds try to hide the Sun. Sooner or later the sunshine does come to our lives. πŸ™‚
Thank you so much for appreciating the imagery. It was a ‘fear’ whether I would be able to paint it satisfactorily πŸ™‚

I have this funny fear of being alone in a valley at night, when the lights go out (happened 2 years back). But this is what happens in life – we are scared of things which we later realize were the most beautiful ones πŸ˜€

        I totally agree with that.
And it is near to magic when fear becomes your love.
I love beaches, but I fear being alone on an island, hearing roar of sea at night.

Whatever comes from the heart is always welcome πŸ™‚ What you said is very true. But still I feel that although we usually get irritated with those who still advise us without understanding the pain, but that irritation somehow sometimes helps us to momentarily forget our pain πŸ˜‰
