In search of heavens I venture
To discover my perfect texture.
The journey was full of life
Greeted me with a hug and a knife.
In the morning I achieved
By evening got deceived.
Tears were always there
Sad or happy, I didn’t care.
The rains sometimes washed away
Possessions that were meant to stay.
Other times they came in first
When the lips were craving with thirst.
I roamed around, I saw a lot
I walked the ground, a sky I bought.
Angels and demons, I befriended both
Tacit compromises, but under the oath.
A sight then, called for happy sighs
No two sides, just a treat to eyes.
Comfort and security so deep
That no evil can ever peep.
I searched everywhere
Found something somewhere.
The caressing heaven, the perfect texture
Finally found in the ‘welcome home’ gesture.
Dedicated to the place I have been calling home for half a decade. The people who made it home and the memories they created, will always be cherished. A few glimpses of the final days. (I am in a green t-shirt, shouldn’t be difficult to spot even while camouflaging)
Wonderful poem, visually as well! and great pictures!! thank you for sharing this!

I can very well relate to your poem. 😦 Yesterday me and two of my closest pals connected through conference call. I miss them a lot. When I left my college, I always thought, I won’t miss much, cause then the only thing I wanted to do was escape and go home. But, now that I am away, O realized that I was so wrong. May be, I don’t miss the place or most of the class, but I miss those who touched my heart. I would love to see them again and spend time with them. Ah! You poem has left me in a lake of nostalgia 😦

Yes, things do change after college, don’t they? And grass is always greener on the other side. You are absolutely right that its the people who make that place, our place. Suppose we have to move on. There’s no lack of good people so there’s a high probability that we’ll meet such people wherever we are 😀

Yes everything changes, for good, *trying to be optimistic* about it! We hope to meet such people again, I hope that this hope turns into reality. 🙂

“Angels and Demons, I befriended both.”
Oh My God. What a beautiful sentence. This might be my next whatsapp status. Lol. I hope that’s okay.
Even though I’m stuck up in the worst college with the worst people, this post made me wonder that I might miss it once it’s over.
Beautiful!

Hehe it would be my honor, Aakansha if it becomes your whatsapp status. You better do it soon before net neutrality goes 😛
And trust me, my initial months were pathetic too. But we all have this tendency to get addicted to our environment. Going away from it is always hard. I think you might be feeling the same about your school friends at this stage? I used to compare everyone here with my school friends which made me all the more disappointed 😀
I wish you get addicted to these worst people and make them the best soon 😉 Thank you so much for appreciating 🙂

Yes yes, now it definitely will be my whatsapp status. 😀
Well, again you are so on point that it is starting to freak me out. 😛
I compare everyone with my school friends and how cool they were and how dumb these new FRIENDS are. It’s like I still haven’t been able to get over the fact that we must also make new friends without having to replace the old ones. And that’s why it becomes a real struggle for me.
I’ll just take this lesson for you to try to adjust in this environment.

I can completely relate with this. But don’t worry, this struggle only means that we were very lucky to have an awesome bunch of friends and our standards are high.
Give Time, time and it will raise the bar even higher but then it’ll be time to move on. That’s life I suppose, as soon as we make our comfort zone, it is ready with a new challenge. No place for boredom 😉
