He was beautiful, he stood strong
Branches wide, stem so long
Caught everyone’s eyes, inspired poets
Proud and tall, wind with him sang duets
Beside him, it lied lifeless on the ground
It waited in silence, nowhere to be found
The dormant seed, being laughed at by the mighty tree
Showing perseverance in the dirt, far from glee
There came the storm, the skies began to roar
The leaves trembled, stem scared to core
But the eyes of the seed finally shone
Like the storm was a friend whom he had known
The winds changed their song
The soft duets got all the notes wrong
In a flash and a deafening noise
The tree fell, like children’s toys
There, the seed flied
With exuberance he cried
Taking the strength and removing all doubt
Reaching at a safe place, got ready to sprout
Not like the tree, be like the seed
So the storms’ strength are on what you feed
Life is a marathon and not a dash
Give it time, only destruction happens in a flash

This is exactly what I needed to hear.. Thank you Prateek !
Aren’t you tired of hearing how well you write.. ?

Thank you so much, S ! Its the best compliment that I was able to say that someone wanted to hear. And I’ll be never tired of hearing this, so please never hesitate whenever you feel so 😛
And your all posts will get my comments as soon as I get some time. A lot of running around is going on these days 😀

Couldn’t agree with you more, Prateek. Most of us are like the tree, standing tall thinking nothing can touch us let alone harm us, but the nature has it’s ways to bring down everyone.
Loved this one! 🙂

Simple and striking. The poem is so well organized (I like organized stuff, though I’m not sure how well that goes down with poetry) and I love how it ends with that “wow” factor which makes you go, “Yes! You nailed it!” This is a beautiful reminder. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Last two lines are so true. Your poem is a pot overflowing with wisdom and faith. You are one of the best writers blessed by Mother Earth. Be like the seed, humble and filled with optimism. Mighty yet hollow, small but enlightened. 🙂 *Drawing inspiration *

Hehe Shambhavi! I really feel that your comment is much more well-thought and beautiful than my post! Thank you so much ! The way you got what I intended to say and wrote such an insightful gist is heartening for me! I really don’t know how to thank you for this. So I will keep reading it and grinning like an idiot ^_^

Your thoughts are beautiful. I am so happy to have read your poem. Always a delight, to be frank, your posts are very inspiring. 😀 You know I tend to think a lot, so that must be reason for my insight, but all thanks to the man behind the scene. 😀

Thank you so much 🙂 I am gratified by your words Prateek 🙂 But, my thinking and over- thinking has made me an insomniac
Currently, listening to music, to get some sleep, but all in vain. Bohemia, has left me pondering. 😀 Bohemia is a rapper, I hope you know.

Yah, this would be the final trip from hostel so the luggage is just too much to be taken by the flight. And yes the site ! I am a proud user of the 2 worst sites of India. Irctc and erp.iitkgp (our academic information and processes happen, or are supposed to happen through this one)

I am also travelling day after. Good.
Hostel life. I miss my old hostel. New one has only good food, and as you said before, grass appears greener on the other side. I do relate to your luggage issue. After shifting once, I have decided, never to get lured by shopping malls or letting them overpower me 😛 Situation under process. Lol 😀
