Heaven comes after death

Rocky was the terrain, too hard to walk on
In the absence of guides, ventured into unknown
Unable to find talent, he developed the skill
Excruciating pain in feet, neglected by eyes filled with thrill

Distant images of leaves, a faint crashing of waves
Inspiration was scarce, but the madness craves
The smell of winning, overpowering the fatigue
Not anymore was he, in reason’s league

Β He lifted the cup of life, with his bruised hand
The suffering slipping away, like desert sand
A grin traveled through, scars and sweat
Skies reached, only after the clouds’ threat

He had to fall, while learning to fly
To experience heaven, he had to die

Such brilliance! I loved this! *applause* xD
Seems like without pain there isn’t much that comes our way, stumbling and bruises make the journey much more worth the result.

“He had to fall, while learning to fly
To experience heaven, he had to die”

    Powerful poem! Beautifully written!
I might have rendered it bare
had I plucked everything I admired there
    in its stanzas
    and carefully chosen words!
    But that ending couplet
    polished the shine
    I heard

        Greetings Prateek,
You are indeed welcome! Do forgive me for this tardy reply. No excuse outside of me being MIA, traipsing in other lilies of the field, welding a camera and sashaying up and down the runway in my mind’s eye.
        Ooops!
Thanks for the neat response. No one has ever commented that “It was really amazing to see a comment in the same writing style which is seen in your beautiful poetry.” πŸ˜€ Muchas gracias!!! Bowing, grinning and spinning!
        Will stop in soon!

I read somewhere – What if after you die, God asks, “How was Heaven?”.
Completely unrelated to your beautifully penned poem, but this just struck my mind while reading. Probably worth a discussion some day.

Haha then I’ll tell God, ‘It was okayish. But the apsara was really just a pencil making company?’
      And thank you πŸ˜€

Precisely. As someone said, extra-ordinary things are not achieved by normal people. Something extra-ordinary has to be done for them πŸ™‚
And its always a sense of achievement when appreciated by you πŸ™‚

Wow! This is amazing. This piece explains so well how without pain, there is no gain. And how we need to keep trying, keep exploring, keep walking on the thorny paths to achieve victory. We need to keep striving even when “Inspiration was scarce, but the madness craves”.

And the last two lines, Oh My, Awesome!

“He had to fall, while learning to fly
To experience heaven, he had to die”

Also, I expressed a similar sort of sentiment in the poem “Why don’t you fly”.
