Greenery is in the eyes of the beholder

SDC12528
“The grass is greener on the other side”

Half the globe won’t let the Sun go
The other staring at the blue waiting for the clouds
Man spending thousands to get a glimpse of snow
Man clearing the white roads to walk into crowds

Corporates making billions by selling fairness to some
While some others getting tanned by the beach
As the high of inferiority takes its toll like old rum
Joy of content rests in pieces like the King’s Speech

A child unable to wait to grow up is confused
To see his elders longing to be children again
When was this urge in the mind first infused
That what you have always calls for disdain

Thank you Kritika and Steph, both of you brilliant poetesses for nominating me for Quotes Challenge. This was the Day 2 when this lovely bird was seen looking at the grass on the other side of the park as if finding it alluring. He had a jolly companion too but before I could take out the camera, he had already taken a flight to that side.

“A child unable to wait to grow up is confused
To see his elders longing to be children again”- very true, indeed! 🙂

Wow! Even for quote challenge you could write such a meaningful poetry. If only people read this… 🙂

I liked the picture too, it is difficult to capture birds, I know!

My quotes are so cliche that wordpress will start looking like the annoying timeline of Facebook if I share only them 😀
And thank you so much, as always. I had wondered for years that how the silver lining is better than the joy the clouds give. 😀 Then I read geography and it struck me. What western poets didn’t have, gave them happiness. The eastern ones loved snow and clouds 😀

Woot! You have put in the contrast so well while working on the grass is always greener theme 🙂 Also like how you bring in the natural mystic while keeping it in sync with the brutal reality of life. Nice!

To pick up a quote we’ve used in circumstances innumerable and since time immemorial, and put it so articulately is genius indeed!

Hehe I thought of making it humorous in the beginning but when it was done, it looked lame 😀
I am glad this version is likable 🙂 Thank you 🙂

Wow! A brilliant job. A simple quote transformed into such beautiful mighty words.
The contrasting examples which you have chosen are so apt and brilliant.
Especially loved the line “That what you have always calls for disdain”. So very true, my friend!

First of all , you have done complete justice to the challenge. The plethora of examples you mentioned are all observed on daily basis. I, myself see victimised by the lust of the other side.

We all are victims of this decease called ‘feeling unsatisfied’. I am really humbled by your wonderful comments ^_^
