Detached

Detached from the branch
The leaf began to fall
Slapped by the winds
It looked upon the sky so small.

Immune to the pain
Indifferent to the trees
He drifted in space
To where time might please

Distant memories started to fade
Of green folks and united rustling
Alone, it was now unable to know
An end it was, or another beginning.

Detached from the branch
The leaf began to fall
Detached from the world
I begin to walk

I wish to be the person in this poem. “Immune to the pain”. So perfect. I’ve missed reading your brilliance.

Beautiful imagery, Prateek. I love the idea of distant memories ‘of green folks and united rustling’. Well constructed poem.

Lovely to say hello to you again, Prateek. I’ve been away such a lot this year, I can scarecely keep up with people’s posts. I’ve collected photos and material for enough posts to last for months!.Hope the new job has turned out to be just what you wanted.:)

And just when you think you’re lost, often a sliver of hope arrives.

I love how you just so effortlessly put across in words something as simple as a leaf in the fall. It makes me wonder if there’s something to be read between the lines…

The leaf detached knows not if it is the beginning or the end….aren’t the two contained in each other……remembering T S Eliot…..Was it really immune to pain when the wind slapped it and when it felt small before the sky….So many thoughts come to my mind as I read this…..attached to the poem, not free from pain….:) Well-timed for Autumn…..:)

    Detached from the branch
    The leaf began to fall
    Detached from the world
    I begin to walk

    In Search for the self
    for peace for harmony
    challenging the inner strength
    giving life a new meaning
coz it is never the END
    but always a new beginning

Pardon me for the dumb poetry but couldnt resist.
Another beautiful poetry. Loved the flow Prateek πŸ™‚

Lets welcome the ‘FALL’ with the hope to ‘RISE’ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Hope things are good at your end… πŸ™‚

You sure have depth in every word you write. The journey of a leaf contrasted to that of a man..way to go !
