In Vain

She was trapped, unable to move a muscle…
He burnt at thousands of degrees, ready for the tussle.
He shone and fought, centuries later melted the glacier…
The river now free, without a word, went to the sea tastier.

The Sun stayed there, watching the burns go in vain.

She dressed in yellow and black…
Working selflessly, secluded from the pack.
She happily sang, but attacked the trespassers…
The flower blossomed, without a glance, allured the lovers.

The bumblebee waited there, watching the life go in vain.

The selfishness of being selfless did its part…
Relationship between sacrifice and reward are just to exhort.
The unbreakable heart, broken and shattered…
The sight one lived for, just never flattered.

Whats best about your posts is your nature love with you relating and synchronizing Sun ,Rivers and glaciers..and can you tell me a bit about the last line so I get the perfect picture of your thoughts πŸ™‚ ?
    awesome post as usual πŸ™‚

Haha! Actually Izza, I think that it is the lack of ideas which is responsible for most of my posts taking inspiration from nature πŸ˜€
And the last line was meant to summarize the above 2 stanzas. The sun and the bumblebee, spend a major part of their lives trying to do everything possible for their love (river and flower, respectively). Although they did it selflessly, but the fact that they are never acknowledged hurts them.
The sight of being flattered by appreciation or gratitude never happened. πŸ™‚
Thank you loads for appreciating and for showering your interest in it ^_^

Thank you so much Sripurna for the lovely compliment. I am glad you stopped by my blog which led me to your space. I must say your quotes have the potential to make anyone’s day. Will definitely go through all of them as soon as I get time. πŸ™‚
Also, can you please share the link of your poem? The way you have written your posts make me difficult to believe that I can write better than you πŸ™‚

I actually haven’t posted that poem yet.. If I do (I’ll probably do it soon), I’ll make sure to send the link πŸ™‚ And trust me, the one I wrote is intensely melodramatic, very typical teenager-ish.. πŸ˜›
Thanks, by the way, about the quotes thing.. I actually make temporary tattoos with a black gel pen every day near my wrist, where I write those quotes πŸ˜› So I think about them all day long, and try to share the feelings these pieces of words strung together so beautifully generate πŸ˜€

The selfishness of being selfless! Leave alone being it, who even gets such thoughts these days? The Earth, Mother Nature, the Universe, all exist and work for a reason. And the reason definitely isn’t our existence! But we behave as if it all belongs to us; it’s our right to figure it all out and utilize it to our likings… Anyways, I love your post, as usual! πŸ˜‰ I hope I didn’t bore you πŸ™‚

I completely agree and was able to think of examples after reading your every word. We have to learn that we didn’t inherit the universe from our ancestors, but borrowed it from the generations to come πŸ˜‰
And thank you always for the love you shower ^_^

I don’t know how you do it prateek but you have a way with words I can never understand. You pick up some normal words with them you make beautiful lines that’s tell us even a more beautiful story and it gives me chills and keeps me wondering and thinking about those words, I believe that’s magic. It’s just mindblowing how you do it and how it all depends on the person, I mean you can give me those exact words and trust me you don’t wanna see the results but those exact words with you are magic. So, you my friend are a true magician, so keep doing magic πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ Good luck πŸ™‚
